Stonehouse Typeface
A scandal reflected through letterforms. John Stonehouse was a politician under Harold Wilson and is famous for faking his own death. In 1974, after finding himself in financial difficulty, Stonehouse left a pile of clothes on a Miami beach in order to imply suicide or a drowning accident. The Stonehouse alphabet shows the story of someone laying their clothes out on the sand, the letterforms appearing to arrive almost accidentally through the shape of the body and the clothes.
